Director of marketing
Marketing/Remote/Full-time
About the role
Own what NodeRings says to hosting providers, and what it says to people buying servers.
What you'll do
- Set the story for both. A provider wants their machines and customers left where they are. A buyer wants a price, a place, and a button.
- Run the site, the blog, launch notes, and the explanation sales uses on a call.
- Choose which experiment gets a week, and look at whether it brought providers or buyers.
- Keep the two sides separate when you measure. Provider work is judged on providers who list. Buyer work is judged on orders.
- Work with the marketing intern. You still write.
What we're looking for
- Seven years in B2B or marketplace marketing. You owned the function at a small company, or one whole channel at a larger one.
- A campaign you ran, including one that missed. Say what you hoped it would do, and what it did to signups or revenue.
- Positioning you wrote yourself: the line a hosting provider hears, and the line a buyer hears. A page, a deck, or the note sales used on a call.
- Hands-on work in at least two of these: the site, search, paid, email, or a product launch.
- You pull the numbers yourself, from analytics or a CRM, and can say whether a page or a campaign worked.
- You can read a technical doc and keep the mechanism true in the copy: the buyer pays, an agent in the provider's network provisions the server, the provider keeps the machine, billing sits with us.
- You have written about an API, a console, or a marketplace, and that description of how the product works held up.
- Hosting, marketplaces, or developer tools are the closest backgrounds. Work on both sides of a marketplace is the closest match.
